The Aptus Gear FRM (Floating rifle mount) can be mounted in several various positions. Supported horizontal, 45* or vertical mounting is ideal. Rifles in the drop-down horizontal position are subject to the full weight of your rifle on the magazine catch and are more likely to fail. Use your best judgment during installation.

 

Start by finding a suitable location with ample clearance to allow the firearm to be mounted and removed. Place the base against the surface and mark the holes. If the holes lands on a wood stud we recommend predrilling the hole followed by a #14 wood screw 2" or greater in length. If the hole does not land on a stud we recommened a drywall anchor such as these Hilti drywall toggle bolts that utilize 1/4" x 20tpi hardware. Once the base has been secured to the wall or other various surfaces, the mag mount can be attached in a left or right facing orientation utilizing the supplied 5/16" x 18tpi allen drive screw and wrench. DO NOT OVERTIGHTEN!
